Trailer Vision now provide a low cost, non subscription tracking system that works using GPS (like Sat-Nav) technology, but has a GSM (like mobile phone) sim card within it, hence no annual charges. However, the 'pay as you go' sim (supplied) will need topping up from time to time, although this is very minimal, as the only costs are txt messages (10p) when you want to know where your unit is. So, when you want to know where your vehicle/trailer/unit is, you txt i-track and it replies with its lat-long info, which can be entered into Google maps etc to give a very precise (GPS) location. That's it. The only 'issues' are hiding & powering the unit, while still enabling the GPS/GSM aerials to work, however, we have successfully tested the unit/aerials hidden inside a cupboard of a horse trailer, see pictures below. For trailer use we will provide a solar panel & rechargeable battery pack designed - 'fit & forget'. Otherwise a rechargeable battery pack will be provided and connected to the brake-light/lighting circuit (12V/24V) etc. The system txts you if the (supplied) back-up battery pack, is getting low.
Pricing: RRP: £199.99
The rechargeable battery packs will be at an additional cost, but the kits will come with 'battery back up' as standard (non rechargeable), so ok for use as is/supplied (without rechargeable battery pack) where there's normally a reliable power supply (eg a horsebox/mobile home).
